Job summary

Santa Rosa Junior College is building a pool of associate faculty for Earth Science/Meteorology instruction. Assignments are part-time, hourly, on-site, and may be temporary or on-call across day/evening/weekend schedules.

Qualified applicants must hold relevant advanced degrees and demonstrate commitment to student diversity and inclusive teaching. The pool supports both on-campus and off-campus teaching as needed, with opportunities across SRJC campuses.

Qualifications

• Master’s in geology, geophysics, earth sciences, meteorology, oceanography or paleontology; OR Bachelor’s in geology AND a Master’s in geography, physics, or geochemistry; OR the equivalent.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students.
• Applicants must provide materials for equivalency review and documentation for course work, degrees and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent instruction and faculty support to students during scheduled hours.
• Provide academic assistance and related services to students during office hours.
• Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism.
• Maintain currency in Earth Science / Meteorology and related fields.
• Associate faculty focus on instruction and student services; may be asked to perform additional compensated duties.
