Job summary

Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) is establishing an on-going pool of associate faculty for part-time, on-call assignments. Roles may be evening, weekend, online or hybrid and are on-site within the Sonoma County district.

Compensation is hourly, with placement based on academic background, vocational and teaching experience as per the AFA contract. Candidates will provide instruction and student services, and may be assigned across multiple campuses and locations.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in History required; OR Bachelor’s in History AND Master’s in Political Science, Humanities, Geography, Area Studies, Women’s Studies, Social Science or any ethnic studies; OR equivalent.
• Possession of a fully satisfied California Community College Instructor’s Credential in History.
• Must demonstrate sensitivity to, and understanding of, diverse backgrounds among community college students.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent instruction and faculty support to students, may include evening, weekend, online or hybrid and/or off-campus assignments.
• Provide academic assistance and related services to students during scheduled office hours.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
• Maintain currency in the field(s) of expertise.
• Associate faculty focus on instruction and/or student services.
