Job summary

Avamere at Newberg is seeking a part-time Server to provide exceptional dining services in memory care, assisted living, and independent living settings.

The role involves taking orders, serving meals and drinks, and keeping the dining area clean and welcoming for residents and their guests. CPR/First Aid certification and a Food Handler card are required, with a wage range of $17.45 to $22.77 per hour DOE.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training to maintain high sanitation and safety standards.
• Maintain personal hygiene and hair restraints during shifts.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with residents and staff.
• Ability to learn and operate basic kitchen equipment.
• Must obtain/maintain CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
• Current Food Handlers card issued by local Health Department.
• Familiarity with dietary practices and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver meal and beverage orders accurately for residents.
• Promptly serve food and drinks, presenting them attractively.
• Provide attentive service, check on residents, and address requests.
• Set up dining room and maintain cleanliness during service.
• Clear and reset tables for next service.
• Take and deliver room service orders to residents’ apartments.
• Know menu items and dietary considerations to answer questions.
• Interact professionally with residents and guests; maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
• Follow food safety, hygiene procedures and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate with wait staff and kitchen staff for smooth service.
• Dispose of food and waste per policy; perform other duties as assigned.
