Job summary

YMCA of the Cedar Rapids Metro Area is seeking a Part Time Member Service Associate to assist with front desk operations, member services, and information delivery about programs and policies.

The role includes greeting members, processing online registrations, answering inquiries, maintaining the cash drawer, and supporting events and facility tours with a welcoming, safety‑minded attitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to communicate with people of all levels.
• Have a positive attitude and desire to achieve the mission of the YMCA.
• General clerical and computer skills.
• Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
• Critical thinking & decision making.
• Emotional maturity.
• Physical requirements: lifting up to 25 lbs, walking, standing.

Responsibilities

• Greet all members and the public with a smile.
• Handle online receipting of memberships and program registrations.
• Answer phone calls promptly and provide information or direct calls.
• Maintain and account for the daily cash drawer.
• Distribute balls, towels, racquets and loaned items using proper procedures.
• Perform basic housekeeping in the Front Office and related areas.
• Be enthusiastic while giving tours of the facility and answer questions.
• Control member flow via the access control system.
• Follow opening/closing procedures when required (doors, cash, saunas).
• Take on additional duties as needed in member services.
