Job summary

HCA Florida JFK Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist to join a supportive team and provide accurate, timely lab testing. You will handle documentation, participate in coverage in supervisor's absence, and ensure quality control and timely delta checks.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate or Bachelor's in Medical Technology, Florida licensure, and preferably a Generalist specialty in Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, or Microbiology. This is a part-time opportunity.

Qualifications

• Associate degree is required.
• Bachelor's in Medical Technology preferred.
• Florida technologist license required or can be obtained during interview.
• Licensure in Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology or Microbiology

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing per procedures.
• Assist in department coverage in supervisor's absence.
• Complete documentation for patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within turnaround targets.
• Use judgment in interpreting results and delta checks.
• Review logs and communicate workload to staff.
• Perform quality control per protocol and manage problematic specimens

Education

Associate degree (2 year)

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology

State of Florida Technologist License

Licensure in Blood Bank/Serology/Chemistry/Hematology/Microbiology
