Job summary

HCA Florida JFK Hospital in Florida is seeking a Medical Technologist/Med Tech to provide accurate laboratory testing, support the department in supervisor's absence, and ensure timely patient results. This role requires an associate or bachelor's in medical technology and Florida licensure.

You will perform quality control, review logs, and complete documentation, with a focus on delta checks and reliability.

Qualifications

• Requires either an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology.
• Florida Technologist License or ability to obtain during interview process.
• Minimum 1 year of MT/Med Tech experience preferred.
• Specialty areas: Generalist highly preferred (Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology).

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing per procedures and turnaround targets.
• Assume department responsibilities in supervisor's absence.
• Complete records and documentation for patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within established turnaround times.
• Use good judgment in interpretation of results; perform delta checks as needed.
• Review pending logs and result logs; communicate workload and relief needs.
• Perform quality control procedures and handle all problem/critical specimens.
