UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care - Intracoastal in Jacksonville, FL is hiring a part-time Medical Laboratory Technologist to support a fast-paced, collaborative lab setting. The role involves performing routine and complex analyses across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and serology, with emphasis on accuracy and patient care.

The position requires a Florida Technologist License and a Bachelor's degree in MLS/MT or related field, with NAACLS program experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, or related field.
• One year of MLS NAACLS-program experience or hospital laboratory technologist experience.
• Florida Technologist License required; ASCP/MT/MLS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens and ensure proper labeling; investigate mislabeled samples and reject per policy.
• Perform moderate to high complexity procedures in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, serology, immunohematology, and molecular areas.
• Perform quality control testing and analyze data to ensure accurate results; document instrument checks and maintenance."
• Provide clinical instruction and train new employees; evaluate new instruments and techniques.
• Attend staff meetings and adhere to policies, confidentiality, and dress code.
• Assist in specimen receipt and transport as workload allows.
