Job summary

HCA Florida University Hospital is hiring a Medical Technologist to provide accurate, timely laboratory testing and quality results in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree (2-year) required; a Bachelor's degree (4-year) preferred; minimum 1 year of MT experience; Florida Technologist License required or pending at interview; Generalist training in Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist.
• Florida Technologist License required or ability to obtain during interview.
• Licenses in one or more clinical specialty areas: Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing by analyzing samples per instructions.
• Take department ownership in the supervisor’s absence.
• Complete all required records/documentation for patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within established turnaround times.
• Exercise good judgment in interpretation of patient results (delta checks, etc.).
• Review pending logs and result logs; resolve workload or inform relief staff.
