Job summary

HCA Florida JFK Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist to provide expert laboratory analysis and support patient care. You will perform accurate testing, maintain documentation, and ensure timely results while working with a collaborative team.

The ideal candidate holds a Florida MT license or is eligible to obtain one, with an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology and at least 1 year of MT experience. A variety of clinical specialty licenses are advantageous.

Qualifications

• 2 Year/Associate Degree required.
• 4 Year/Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of MT experience preferred.
• Florida Technologist License required or ability to obtain during interview.
• Specialist licenses in Generalist areas (Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology) are valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing by analyzing proficiency testing samples according to instructions and complete within the allowed timeframe.
• Take department responsibility in the supervisor's absence.
• Complete all records/documentation for patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within established turnaround times.
• Use good judgment and independent thinking in interpretation of results.
• Review pending logs and results; communicate with staff on workload.
• Perform quality control procedures and handle all problem/critical specimens.

Education

2 Year/Associate Degree

4 Year/Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology

Minimum 1 year of experience as Medical Technologist

State of Florida Technologist License or ability to obtain

Licenses in Generalist areas: Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology
