Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a clinical laboratory field is required or equivalent.
• Bachelor's or Associate's in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests following established protocols.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and reports appropriately.
• Performs calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments and equipment.
• Documents quality control and ensures QA for improvement.
• Collects specimens per protocol and ensures proper labeling.
• Provides training and technical assistance to lab staff.
• Aids in improving procedures and ensures compliance with accrediting standards.
• Performs proficiency testing and supports transfusion, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation, and flow cytometry as needed.
• Supports critical care departments during high acuity events with timely results.
