Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist for the IL Central Lab: Microbiology. This full-time, 40-hour day shift position supports 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with rotating weekends and holidays.

Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences and MT/MLS certification within 1 year. No prior experience required, but strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences required.
• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• ASCP MT/MLS or AMT MT certification to be obtained within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests within established protocols.
• Monitors workflow and adjusts to complete work in a timely manner.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and validity.
• Follows policy for reporting and notifying test results.
• Performs calibration, maintenance, and repair of instruments and equipment.
• Ensures compliance with accreditation standards and quality control.
• Collects specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients per protocol.
• Supervises and trains lab staff and students as assigned.
