Job summary

Advocate Medical Group (AMG) in Skokie, IL is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant/Patient Service Representative to support the care team with clinical and administrative tasks essential to patient care.

Position is 20 hours per week with clinic hours Monday–Friday, 7:45am–5:30pm; travel to other occupational health locations may be required. High school diploma or MA program/2 years MA experience required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, or 2 years of verifiable MA experience.
• Certifications in drug screening, alcohol testing (CAOHC/NISOH) a plus (may be obtained after hire).
• 1–2 years of customer service experience.
• Experience handling difficult callers/patients.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs, histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Support providers and patients to ensure a seamless experience.
• Provide efficient, high-quality service for in-person and phone inquiries.
