Job summary

Advocate Medical Group, part of Advocate Health, is seeking a Medical Assistant in McHenry, IL. The role supports the care team with clinical and administrative tasks, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with one Saturday per month.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, preparing patients, and assisting with procedures. Candidates need a High School Diploma or MA program completion (or 2 years MA experience); phlebotomy skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, or 2 years verifiable MA experience.
• Phlebotomy skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and teammates to ensure coordinated care.
