Job summary

Cape Cod Community College is seeking a Mass Communications and Broadcasting Instructor to provide hands-on training for intellectually disabled adults in the Project Forward program. The role focuses on developing soft skills in communication—interpersonal, group, and public speaking—with curriculum around Word, email, podcasts, and basic camera operations.

This part-time position pays $36.55 per hour for up to 18 hours/week during Fall 2026 and Spring 2027, with no benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong experience with radio, podcasting, video production, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team player with students and Project Forward staff.
  • Excellent organizational and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers (Microsoft Office), including typing, storing/retrieving computer files, completing an online timesheet, tutorials, etc.
  • Ability to perform physical/hands-on work.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on training and instruction to intellectually disabled adults in Project Forward.
  • Teach history of communication and FCC rules.
  • Instruct on appropriate communication skills, including eye contact, tone of voice, body language and non-verbal communication.
  • Teach fundamentals of radio broadcasting, podcasting and production.
  • Teach video pre-production skills and how to operate an HD video camera, performing basic moves and compositions. Make and edit short PSA's.
  • Teach Microsoft Office skills including making flyers, answering email and developing outlines, etc.
  • Teach how to write and deliver a speech/PSA.
