Job summary

Cape Cod Community College is seeking a part-time Classroom Assistant to support the Hospitality and Culinary Arts program under the supervision of Classroom Instructors and the Project Forward Learning Disability Specialist.

The role involves assisting with design, implementation, and evaluation of course materials, maintaining attendance data, and ensuring student health and safety while upholding confidentiality and program protocols.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong written skills and very strong computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional classroom support to students and staff in classroom and field experience settings as directed by the classroom teacher in Hospitality and Culinary Arts.
• Implement modifications and adaptations to the environment or materials as directed by the classroom instructor.
• Assist staff in maintaining charts, data, and other records related to student progress and attendance.
• Reinforce academic and social behaviors as taught by the instructor and program expectations.
• Model professional social and work skills for students and staff.
• Assist in managing student behavior by applying proactive strategies.
• Be a cooperative team member in all course and program activities.
• Attend Project Forward in‑service meetings and workshops to maintain skills.
• Provide verbal/written feedback of observations to assist instructors in evaluating students.
• Participate in lesson and classroom activity planning as directed by instructor.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Project Forward administration or instructors.
