Part Time Media Classroom Support Technician
Overview
The Part time Media Classroom Support Technician works with the Media Services team to provide audio/visual (AV) support across the campus, maintaining a high level of customer service and supporting campus events scheduled through the college’s Conference Services team.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform audio/visual (AV) deliveries and setups in classrooms and other campus locations.
- Support campus events involving microphone and audiovisual setups, assisting clients with presentations.
- Collaborate with the Media Services team to maintain AV systems in classrooms.
- Respond to trouble calls in the classroom related to AV.
- Data entry to track classroom deliveries, event setups, and trouble calls.
- Develop skill competencies in video and video conferencing (Zoom).
- Work seamlessly with all Media Services staff, including the Coordinator of Classroom Technology.
- Maintain regular on‑campus attendance and availability for classroom support.
- Utilize technology, including AI‑enabled tools, to support duties while ensuring compliance with confidentiality requirements, institutional policies, and applicable regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Hours and Schedule
No more than 25 hours per week. The position requires an 8:00 a.m. start time for four days each week.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED equivalent plus fifteen (15) credit hours of college‑level coursework.
- One (1) year of related work experience.
- Basic familiarity with MS Office.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical capacity to lift 25 lbs. and to walk the campus frequently.
- Availability for varying hours, including morning, day, evening, and weekend.
- Ability to learn and leverage emerging AI‑supported tools, assess accuracy and reliability of AI‑generated content, maintain confidentiality, and apply sound judgment and ethical practices in technology use.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience troubleshooting classroom AV equipment such as document cameras and data projectors.
- Experience with Zoom video conferencing.
- Experience in video shooting and editing.
- Customer service or training experience.
Compensation
Salary/Hourly Rate: $21.08 per hour.
