Job summary

SpartanNash in Lima, Ohio is seeking a part-time Meat Cutter to properly cut and prepare meats to department standards. You will weigh, trim, grind, and package products, following recipes and safety guidelines, while maintaining display quality and stocking shelves.

Prior meat-cutting or related retail experience is preferred. The role requires reading and writing ability, basic math, and the physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Meat Cutter experience preferred.
• Read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; stand and walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, etc. for individual servings.
• Produce value-added products per guidelines; grind and tray meats; make sausage.
• Price, date, wrap and bag meat products following guidelines.
• Keep department clean, stocked, and organized; rotate stock.
• Assist customers with product knowledge and upsell where appropriate.
