Job summary

SpartanNash in Bluffton, Ohio is hiring a Meat Cutter to properly cut and weigh meats, following standard recipes and quality guidelines. You will also ensure product freshness and maintain attractive displays while adhering to safety protocols.

The role requires the ability to read and interpret orders, basic math for pricing and portioning, and a willingness to assist other departments as needed. Prior meat-cutting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year retail or related experience preferred.
• Prior experience as a Meat Cutter or Apprentice preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Suggestive selling and product knowledge.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, and other portions.
• Produce value-added products per guidelines.
• Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections to cooking cuts.
• Follow recipes to grind and tray meats and make sausage.
• Price, date, wrap, and bag meat products per guidelines.
• Fill, rotate and merchandise shelves and displays.
• Notify manager when stock needs ordering.
• Receive, unload and stock merchandise.
• Maintain knowledge of products and pricing.
• Follow PPE, safety, and food safety guidelines.
• Provide guest service and upsell where appropriate.
• May assist other departments as needed.
