Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year retail or related experience preferred.
• Prior meat cutting or apprentice experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills for pricing and weighing.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, and other cuts to specifications.
• Produce value-added products per established guidelines.
• Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections to cooking cuts.
• Follow recipes to grind and tray meats and make sausage.
• Price, date, wrap and bag meat products per guidelines.
• Fill, rotate and merchandise shelves, cases and displays.
• Notify manager when products or supplies need ordering.
• Receive, unload, and stock merchandise efficiently.
• Practice suggestive selling and know product differences.
• Maintain a clean, stocked department and follow safety rules.
