Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center is seeking a Mammography Technologist for a part-time role. You will perform mammography exams, ensure patient safety, and support a collaborative imaging team. The position requires ARRT certifications, minimum radiologic tech experience, and a focus on quality imaging.

The role emphasizes patient communication, accurate documentation, and adherence to QA/QC processes in a fast-paced hospital setting within Wellstar's integrated Georgia health system.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• 1 year radiologic technologist experience including mammography preferred.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) and ARRT-M (Mammography) certifications; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol with two identifiers.
• Gather patient history, screen contraindications, explain exam to reduce anxiety (AIDET).
• Protect patient privacy and comfort; assist with transfers as needed.
• Review images for quality; maintain first-time acceptance rate.
• Operate equipment safely; optimize dose; follow infection control guidelines.
• Complete required QC tests (ACR/MQSA) and documentation in PACS/RIS.
• Label, orient, and document images; ensure daily charge capture.
