Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center is seeking a part-time Mammography Technologist to provide high-quality imaging and compassionate patient care. You will join a collaborative care team and balance meaningful clinical work with life outside the hospital.

This role supports a flexible, predictable schedule with opportunities for professional growth and education through Wellstar’s CareerCare program. Prior mammography experience and ARRT certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of radiologic technologist experience and 1 year of mammography experience in a hospital.
• Certifications: ARRT-R, ARRT-M, and BLS (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol with two patient identifiers.
• Gather patient history, screen contraindications, and explain the exam to reduce anxiety (AIDET).
• Protect patient privacy and comfort while positioning and assisting with transfers.
• Review images for quality and first-time acceptance before release.
• Operate equipment safely, optimize dose, and maintain infection control practices.
• Conduct QC tests per ACR/MQSA guidance.
• Label, document in PACS/RIS and complete daily charge capture.
• Keep the mammography suite clean and stocked; apply shielding and immobilization as needed.
• Provide clear pre/post exam instructions and train new team members.
• Maintain timely documentation and communicate via email.
