Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help create a secure shopping environment while delivering exceptional customer service.

You will be stationed at store entrances and high‑risk areas, maintain a professional appearance, greet customers with a warm, energetic greeting, and monitor for opportunities to deter theft. The role emphasizes knowledge of shortage reduction programs and reporting to the Manager on Duty.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers
• Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule; including nights, weekends, and holidays as required

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance at all times, wearing the designated dress standards and staying stationed at the front of the store
• Greet every customer entering or exiting the store with a warm smile and a loud, friendly greeting, promoting a sense of control and security
• Create a secure environment and reduce opportunities for theft by monitoring entrances and high-risk areas
• Identify and report theft incidents and/or suspicious subjects to the Manager on Duty when identified
