Job summary

Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains, NJ, is seeking a Part‑Time Linen Tech (Environmental Services). The position runs 6:30AM-2:30PM, including every other weekend and holiday, with a starting rate of $18.50/hr.

Responsibilities include washing, drying, ironing and folding linens; inspecting and sorting laundry; delivering linens to user locations; and maintaining the linen room and logs. Requirements include HS diploma or GED, English proficiency, and ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50 lbs.
• 1–3 years' experience as Linen Tech or relevant area preferred.
• Prior experience working in a Health Care Facility, Hospital System or relevant area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Washes, dries, irons, and folds linen and uniforms as required.
• Inspects and sorts linen as it is received from laundry and records and returns rejects to laundry.
• Removes clean linen from laundry carts and places in designated areas.
• Loads carts for delivery.
• Removes soiled linen from patient floors.
• Informs Environmental Services Supervisor on any damaged or missing linen from laundry.
• Delivers linens to all user locations.
• Sets up charts for housekeeping schedules, and carts daily as needed.
• Maintains log for linen closets, documenting unused linen and reporting any discrepancy.
• Maintains linen room in a clean and orderly condition.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
