Job summary

Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains, NJ is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. Hours are 7:00AM - 3:00PM, including every other weekend and every other holiday. Starting rate: $18.50/hr.

Responsibilities include cleaning nursing units and patient rooms, restocking carts, removing trash, and handling bio-hazard materials. HS diploma or GED required; English proficiency and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Solid work history a must.
• Need to meet the fit testing requirement.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clean nursing units, patients' rooms and all designated facility areas using appropriate cleaning equipment.
• Follow department policies on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
• Clean up major spills and respond to pages in a timely manner.
• Clean and restock housekeeping carts at end of each shift.
• Remove all trash and linen within the hospital.
• Follow directions for cleaning solutions and handling bio-hazard materials.
• Perform periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
• Report repairs to maintenance.
• Attend monthly department meetings to stay updated.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
