Job summary

Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center is seeking a Part-Time Linen Tech (Environmental Services). Essential hours are 6:30AM-2:30PM, including every other weekend and holiday. Starting rate is $18.50/hr. HS diploma or GED required, and English proficiency is essential for patient safety.

Primary duties include washing, drying, ironing, folding linen, loading and delivering, and maintaining linen inventory and cleanliness in the linen room. Prior healthcare facility experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Washes, dries, irons, and folds linen and uniforms as required.
• Inspects and sorts linen as it is received from laundry and records and returns rejects to laundry.
• Removes clean linen from laundry carts and places in designated areas.
• Loads carts for delivery.
• Removes soiled linen from patient floors.
• Informs Environmental Services Supervisor on any damaged or missing linen from laundry.
• Delivers linens to all user locations.
• Sets up charts for housekeeping schedules, and carts daily as needed.
• Maintains log for linen closets, documenting unused linen and reporting any apparent discrepancy between established standards and actual usage.
• Maintains linen room in a clean and orderly condition.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Relevant Experience:

• 1-3 years' experience as Linen Tech or relevant area preferred.
• Prior experience working in a Health Care Facility, Hospital System or relevant area preferred.
