Job summary

Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains, NJ, is seeking a Part-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) to maintain clean patient areas, nursing units and public spaces.

Shift is 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, including weekends; starting rate $18.50/hour. Candidates must have HS Diploma or GED, be able to read, write and speak English, and lift up to 50 lbs. Experience in hospital housekeeping preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Solid work history a must.
• Need to meet the fit testing requirement.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
• Prior housekeeping experience in hospital or institutional setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans nursing units, patients' rooms and designated areas.
• Follows cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization procedures.
• Cleans spills and responds to pages promptly.
• Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at end of shift.
• Removes trash and linen from hospital areas.
• Handles cleaning solutions and bio-hazard materials safely.
• Reports repairs to maintenance and attends monthly meetings.
