Job summary

The Monroe Township Public Library seeks a Technology Support Specialist to maintain and advance the library's technology infrastructure for staff and patrons. This part-time, non-union role focuses on reliability, security, and user-friendly digital services, with after-hours support as needed.

Responsibilities include monitoring networks and servers, installing and repairing PCs and A/V equipment, providing training, creating documentation, and coordinating with vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree or certification in a computer science or technology related field.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience with technology and electronic services or relevant experience in computer network operations, maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor the integrity, performance, and security of networks (LAN/WAN), servers, and databases.
• Perform updates, maintenance, and proactive performance monitoring for uptime.
• Install, maintain, test, and repair PCs, laptops, printers, and A/V equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system issues; may require after-hours support.
• Serve as primary contact for setup and support of A/V equipment in meetings and events.
• Provide technical assistance and training to staff and patrons.
• Coordinate technology training for staff on cybersecurity per policy.
• Develop standard technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
• Maintain hardware inventories, software licenses, warranties, and network configurations.
• Coordinate with outside IT contractors and vendors.
