Job summary

The Free Public Library of Monroe Township is seeking a service‑oriented individual to join the reference team in Williamstown. You will provide reference, technology, and readers advisory help to patrons in person and by phone, and assist with computer questions during 1-on-1 tech help sessions.

Under supervision of a professional librarian, you may aid with cataloging and registration. This Civil Service position offers vacation, sick, and holiday time per library policies and agreements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent.
• Some library experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference, technology, and readers advisory assistance at the reference desk in person and over the phone.
• Assist patrons with computer and tech questions via 1-on-1 tech help appointments.
• Keep up to date on library services and events, assist patrons with registration.
• Under direction of a professional librarian, may assist with cataloging library materials.
