Job summary

Pima County's Sam Lena-South Tucson Library is seeking a part-time Library Technical Assistant to assist customers, support library technology, and help with daily operations. The role requires traveling between assigned library locations during the workday and providing strong service.

The position emphasizes customer focus, technical assistance, and accurate records management. The incumbent will handle card issues, fines, and digital resources, while collaborating with IT staff to resolve

Qualifications

Minimum one year of experience in a library setting.
Minimum one year of experience in customer service.
Bilingual English/Spanish (speaking, reading, writing).
Minimum two years of technical experience with devices and library systems (email, eBooks, MS Office, tablets, e-readers, etc.).
Experience using an integrated library system (ILS) such as Sierra, Polaris, SirsiDynix, Millenium, Alma, Symphony, Horizon, Carl, or Apollo.
Experience using a cash register and handling money.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by assisting the public, answering calls, and resolving questions.
Assist patrons with library resources, databases, accounts, and digital services.
Troubleshoot and maintain library computers with IT staff as needed.
Help users with personal devices and common web-based platforms.
Check items in/out, manage cards, fines, deposits, and accounts.
