Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Library Patrol Security Officer in Hagerstown, MD to provide customer service, deter incidents, and maintain a safe environment for staff and visitors. As an unarmed officer, you will patrol library spaces, monitor access points, and report concerns while upholding Allied Universal values.

The role requires a minimum age of 18, a high school diploma or equivalent, background checks, and a drug screen where permitted by law.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• A drug screen is required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and patrons by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents, patron concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of library spaces, technology areas, entrances, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting unusual conditions or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications.
