Job summary

Allied Universal in Raleigh, NC is seeking a part-time Security Officer for Library Patrol. You will provide customer service to visitors and staff, conduct unarmed patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents on a government services site. You will use a computer or tablet to document activities and communicate important information.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and regulations.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors at a government services location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and contractor activity in accordance with site procedures; assist with access control and visitor direction as assigned.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document actions taken.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, hazards, and other security-related observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
