Job summary

City of Farmington’s Library is seeking a part-time Library Public Computer Lab Technician at the Farmington Public Library. You will assist patrons with basic computer use and help manage public computer access during peak hours.

The role requires knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office and web tools, good customer service, and the ability to work evenings and weekends. A valid driver's license is needed; training provided to operate library technology like 3D printers and AV equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate with the public across age groups and backgrounds.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and the World Wide Web; MS Office and Adobe Suite desired.
• Basic understanding of library procedures and technologies.
• Ability to assist patrons with online catalogs, databases, and internet use.

Responsibilities

• Assist and monitor use of public computers and internet access.
• Coordinate, organize, and monitor public computer use.
• Provide excellent customer service and help patrons with basic computer use.
• Plan, schedule, and instruct computer/technology appointments as needed.
• Operate and support library technology (3D printers, AV equipment) and assist staff and patrons.
• Maintain positive relations with staff and the public and follow policies.
