Job summary

Oak Park Public Library seeks a part-time Information Technology (IT) Assistant to join its IT team. The role provides essential support for the library's technology infrastructure and helps staff and patrons access reliable, secure digital services.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware and software, maintaining inventory, creating user guides, and assisting on IT projects. Evening and weekend hours are required, with an hourly rate of $22.00 to $25.00.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred college coursework or degree in CS/IT.
• Knowledge of Windows, macOS, networking, and basic IT hardware.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT support to staff and patrons in person, by phone, or via tickets.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues and maintain documentation.
• Maintain inventory and assist with AV support for meetings.
• Participate in IT projects and assist outside regular hours when needed.
• Collaborate with staff to improve services and technology processes.
