Job summary

Hampstead NH Public Library is seeking a part-time Library Assistant II to support front desk customer service and adult programming, collaborating with our Programming Librarian. The library, a small town library near the Massachusetts border, serves about 9,000 residents.

Regular schedule ranges from 13 to 23 hours per week. Duties include circulating materials, assisting patrons, and helping with programs. Salary starts at $23.40 per hour.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and level of competency associated with some college.
• Experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the duties.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience to demonstrate required abilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as front desk customer service.
• Provide information services and assist with programs.
• Circulate materials and prepare materials for patrons.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as necessary.
• Assist with adult programming in collaboration with the Programming Librarian.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
