Job summary

The Public Library in Nashua, NH is seeking an Assistant Librarian to partner with the Programming and Marketing librarian. This full-time role focuses on planning and delivering adult programming that meets community needs and advances the library's goals.

You will coordinate large programs and events for all ages, manage meeting room reservations and gallery exhibits, and assist customers at the service desk in person, by phone, and via email.

Qualifications

• Degree from a four-year accredited institution.
• 1-2 years of experience working in a public library setting or similar community organization.
• Proficiency in the use of office productivity software and demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies.
• Ability to engage well with members of the public, speak to large groups and communicate effectively and tactfully with diverse populations.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement adult programming that is responsive to community needs and helps achieve strategic goals.
• Participate in planning and implementing large programs and events for all ages.
• Has primary responsibility for managing meeting room reservations and managing exhibits in the gallery.
• Works regular shifts at a public service desk assisting customers in person, on the phone and via email.
