Job summary

King William County Library System in Temecula, CA is seeking a Library Associate 2 to handle circulation tasks and assist patrons. This entry-level, part-time role focuses on customer service at the desk and supporting library operations.

Training will be provided, and bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Responsibilities include registering patrons, checking out materials, assisting at the reference desk, processing fines, and guiding patrons to programs and services.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• English/Spanish speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and registering patrons, issuing library cards, checking out materials and managing patron accounts.
• Assisting patrons with locating materials or at the reference desk, using computers and explaining procedures.
• Checking in and processing library materials, handling fines/payments, and providing program information.
• Mails materials for homebound programs and shelves library items.
• Escalating patron conduct or safety issues to management.
• Follow all privacy policies and other duties as assigned.
