Job summary

Municipality of Anchorage's Library Department is seeking a part-time Library Clerk to perform customer service tasks, manage materials in the library system, and assist patrons with technology and programs. The role includes cash handling for fines and fees, and supporting staff during meals and staff absences.

Applicants must have a high school diploma and at least six months of customer service experience. Work hours are evening/weekend shifts at the Eagle River location.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience (volunteer or paid).
• Ability to assist patrons with library technologies and basic devices.

Responsibilities

• Operate the library online system to charge, discharge, and renew materials.
• Assist patrons with library technologies (computers, copiers, printers, devices).
• Perform cash handling duties (fines/fees) and operate cash register and card terminal.
• Support library programs and events and provide staff coverage during meals or absences.
• Assist librarians and read/communicate via email or chat; provide excellent service to customers.
