The Consortium Library at University of Alaska Anchorage is seeking part-time reference professionals to cover a mix of evening, weekend, and weekday shifts. Staff provide in-person and virtual reference services to students, staff, faculty, and the local community, supporting instructional and research activities.

Candidates should have strong communication and customer service skills, comfort with library technology, and the ability to teach users at varying skill levels while working

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and one year of library or customer service experience, or a Bachelor's degree in any field plus one year in a relevant area.
• Experience providing customer service or reference services.
• Ability to troubleshoot technology and learn library resources and services.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference desk coverage in person and remotely via chat, email, Zoom, and phone as part of an evening/weekend/weekday rotation.
• Assist librarians with projects and participate in Instruction and Research activities.
• Use the library discovery service, catalog, databases, and Spring Share applications; assist users with technology and learning new tools.
