Job summary

Anchorage Library is seeking a dependable library clerk to lead patron services, supervise circulation tasks, and guide clerical staff in daily operations. You will assist patrons with check-out, renewals, and inquiries, interpret policy, manage cash receipts, and maintain equipment and the self-checkout system.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED plus 18 months of customer service or library experience, or an Associate’s degree with six months of relevant experience; background

Qualifications

• High school, GED, or the equivalent and 18 months of customer service and/or library experience.
• OR
• Associate’s degree in library science or related discipline and 6 months of customer service and/or library experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead support staff at patron services and oversee daily circulation operations.
• Assist patrons with check-out/check-in/renewals and handle questions about materials.
• Maintain supply inventory and assist with equipment, self-check-out, and transactions.
