Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of laboratory principles and waived testing.
• Ability to produce rapid, reliable lab results during high-volume periods.
• Proficiency in venipuncture, finger sticks, and specimen handling.
• Must sit, stand, and walk for long periods; lift 20–50 lbs.
• Willingness to work at any center as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality and rapid lab results following proper procedures and safety guidelines.
• Follow procedures for specimen collection, handling, and processing; report and record test results.
• Document all quality control activities under supervision of Lab Technician on duty.
• Electronically order lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed.
• Notify nurses and physicians when patient is ready for exam; relay lab/x-ray questions.
• Adhere to corrective action policies when test systems deviate from acceptable levels.
• Troubleshoot problems affecting test performance or reporting; escalate as needed.
• Receive and distribute lab supplies; maintain safety policies.
