Job summary

Patient First is seeking a Laboratory Technician to deliver accurate, timely lab results and support patient care across centers in Virginia. You will follow specimen handling procedures, maintain quality controls, and assist physicians and nurses with patient treatment and triage.

The role requires lab knowledge, ability to work in a fast-paced clinic environment, and CPR certification. Travel between centers may be needed to cover staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 60 semester hours of college coursework, with related science subjects.
• Associates or Bachelors degree in chemistry, biology, or clinical/medical laboratory science.
• One year of technicial training in a formal program is acceptable.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality and rapid lab results with accurate reporting.
• Follow procedures for specimen collection, handling and processing.
• Assist physicians and nurses with patient care and triage tasks.
• Order lab supplies in medical records system under physician orders.
• Maintain instrument calibration, quality control, and records.
