Job summary

Patient First in Aberdeen, MD is seeking a Lab Assistant to provide rapid, accurate lab results and support for high-volume testing environments. You will follow specimen collection and processing procedures, maintain quality controls, and assist clinicians with test results and related questions.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to perform waived testing, and comfort with moving and lifting items up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to perform waived testing with solid lab principles and accuracy.
• Comfort with high-volume throughput and following safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid and accurate lab results with knowledge of procedures and equipment.
• Follow specimen collection, handling, processing, testing, reporting and record maintenance.
• Assist with ordering lab supplies and notify clinicians when tests are ready.
• Maintain quality control documentation and safety policies under supervision.
• Support nurses and physicians with patient care as needed.
• Foster teamwork and deliver friendly service in all interactions.
