Job summary

Loverboy, a new restaurant concept from No Risk No Magic Hospitality Group, seeks a team player for its San Antonio on-site kitchen. You will prep vegetables, assemble entrees, and support cooks while maintaining clean, organized stations and adherence to recipes.

You should have 1+ year of high-volume kitchen experience, excellent communication, punctuality, and a professional appearance. 18+ and able to lift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily prep list to prep items for shift and beyond.
• Label, date and stock items; keep ingredients organized in walk-in cooler.
• Measure ingredients accurately per recipes and specs.
• Wash, chop, and sort fruits, vegetables, and meats.
• Prepare salads, guacamole and other menu items per recipes.
• Perform basic cooking tasks such as parboiling, sauce reduction, and simple dishes.
• Set up salad prep area and station with proper inserts and fresh product.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitize utensils and areas.
• Keep sanitizer buckets filled and accessible at each station.
• Assist cooks and expeditors to open stations properly.
• Set up and season tortilla griddle; prep tortillas as needed.
• Assist with kitchen cleanup and closing tasks.

Loverboy is a new restaurant concept from the team behind Box St. All Day and No Risk No Magic Hospitality Group. It is planned to open at Pearl November 2, 2026.

Summary/Objective

You are a team player. You help prepare the kitchen by chopping vegetables, making salads, and assembling entrees. You assist with tasks like storing leftover food, washing dishes and cleaning and emptying trash.

Essential Functions

• Follow provided prep list daily to prep items needed for the shift and beyond
• Label, date and stock items ensuring all ingredients are organized and easily accessible in walk-in cooler.
• Accurately measure all ingredients according to spec
• Wash, chop, and sort ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats
• Prepare all salad, guacamole and various menu items per recipes and specifications
• Basic cooking tasks such as parboiling food, reducing sauces, and preparing simple dishes like salads
• Set up salad prep cooler and salad station with proper inserts using fresh product needed for shifts
• Maintaining cleanliness by keeping the kitchen areas, utensils and items being used clean and sanitized
• Maintain a sanitizer bucket at station for each shift
• Assist other cooks with tasks needed to open stations properly
• Set up and season the tortilla griddle with oil, prep corn & flour tortillas as needed
• Assist all cooks and expeditors with kitchen clean-up.

Required Education and Experience

• Must be 18 years of age
• Must display exceptional customer service and communication skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills; Punctual and reliable attendance is required
• 1 plus year(s) of experience in a high-volume establishment is required
• Must have well-groomed and professionally dressed following uniform standards
• Must have attention for detail, and a passion for serving Guests
• Positive and professional attitude in every aspect of the position
• Physical requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of time; capability to lift and carry items weighing
