Job summary

The Seattle Y is seeking a part-time, on-site Kids Zone attendant to supervise and engage children in drop-in care. You will help run games, arts and STEM activities, build teamwork, and provide safe supervision during member visits.

Responsibilities include implementing activities, communicating with parents, following safety policies, and supporting events such as Parents Night Outs and Family Nights. Typical shifts are mornings and evenings, with a friendly, service-oriented team culture.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older.
• Six months or more experience with children.
• Ability to model Y values: caring, respect, responsibility and honesty.
• Experience planning and implementing group activities preferred.
• Knowledge of diverse populations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children to ensure health and safety and provide a positive experience.
• Implement program activities and assist in planning.
• Follow YMCA policies, including safety and abuse prevention.
• Engage with parents/guardians to share information about the child’s experience.
• Ensure toys and equipment are clean, safe, and properly stored.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.
