Job summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking a Part-Time, On-site Kid Zone Lead to supervise and enrich drop-in child care activities for members. You will implement engaging group games, arts, and STEM activities while building trusted relationships with children, families, and staff.

You will guide Kid Zone Counselors, support events like Parents Night Outs and Family Nights, and help maintain safe, welcoming environments across multiple Kid Zone sessions with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• 1 year or more previous experience working with children; camps, child care, tutoring, nanny, coaching.
• Ability to model and demonstrate YMCA values: caring, respect, responsibility and honesty.
• Experience planning and implementing group activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of children to ensure their health and safety and provide a positive experience.
• Develops and implements program activities.
• Provides guidance and direction to Kids Zone Counselors as needed.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including medical, disciplinary, and safety guidelines.
• Engages with parents/guardians to share information about their child’s experience and future programs.
• Ensures toys and equipment are safe and reports issues to supervisor.
• Attends staff meetings and training.
• Other duties as assigned.
