Job summary

Seattle YMCA is hiring for an on-site, part-time Kids Zone role in Seattle. You’ll supervise children, run group activities, and support events like Parents Night Outs and Family Nights while upholding YMCA policies and safety standards.

The position involves engaging with families, implementing enrichment activities, and helping to create a welcoming, inclusive environment within our Kid Zone program. Work hours vary across Mon-Fri and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older.
• Six months or more previous experience working with children; camps, child care, tutoring, nanny, coaching.
• Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.
• Ability to model and demonstrate Y values; caring, respect, responsibility and honesty.
• Experience planning and implementing group activities preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of children to ensure their health, safety and to provide a positive experience for each child.
• Implements program activities. May be asked to assist in planning activities.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
• Professionally engages with parents/guardians to provide pertinent information about their child’s experience and to promote upcoming programs.
• Ensures that toys and equipment are clean, safe, set up and stored properly.
• Attends staff meetings and training programs as required.
• Other duties as assigned
