Job summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle seeks a Part-Time Kid Zone Lead in Bellevue to supervise groups of children, develop activities, and mentor counselors. You’ll build positive relationships with members and guests while ensuring safety and engagement across drop-in care programs.

You’ll coordinate with staff during M-Sat shifts, help run events like Parents Night Outs and Family nights, and promote teamwork and YMCA values. Requires a high school diploma and 1+ year experience with children.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 1 year or more experience working with children.
• Ability to model YMCA values: caring, respect, responsibility and honesty.
• Experience planning and leading group activities preferred.
• Diversity awareness; language skills are helpful.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of children to ensure health, safety and a positive experience.
• Develops and implements program activities.
• Provides guidance to Kids Zone Counselors as needed.
• Follows YMCA policies, including safety and discipline procedures.
• Engages with parents to share information about the child’s experience and upcoming programs.
• Ensures toys and equipment are clean and safe; reports problems.
• Attends staff meetings and training; performs other duties as assigned.
