Job summary

Seattle YMCA in Seattle, WA is seeking a Kid Zone Leader for an on-site, part-time role with variable hours during the Y's Kid Zone program. You will supervise groups of children, develop and implement activities, and guide counselors while ensuring safety and high-quality care within our drop-in centers across membership facilities.

This position offers evening and weekend shifts, opportunities to build relationships with families, and access to YMCA benefits including insurance, retirement

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with high school education or equivalent.
• 1+ year experience with children (camps, child care, tutoring, nanny, coaching).
• Ability to model and demonstrate Y values (caring, respect, responsibility, honesty).
• Experience planning group activities and working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of children to ensure health, safety and a positive experience.
• Develops and implements program activities.
• Provides guidance and leadership to Kids Zone Counselors as needed.
• Follows YMCA policies on medical, disciplinary issues and safety protocols.
• Engages with parents/guardians to share information about the child’s experience.
• Ensures toys/equipment are clean, safe and properly stored; reports issues.
• Attends staff meetings and training as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
