Job summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle seeks an on-site, part-time Kid Zone Lead to supervise children, develop activities, and lead counselors. You will engage with families, model YMCA values, and help run programs like Parents Night Outs and Family Nights.

Strong emphasis on safety and community care. Requirements include a high school education or equivalent, 1+ year experience with children, and the ability to plan group activities.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• Other applicable education, training, and experience will be considered.
• 1 year or more experience with children in camps, child care, tutoring, nanny, or coaching is preferred.
• Ability to model and demonstrate Y values: caring, respect, responsibility, honesty.
• Experience planning and implementing group activities is preferred.
• Diversity knowledge and language skills are helpful.

Responsibilities

• Supervise groups of children to ensure health and safety and provide a positive experience.
• Develop and implement program activities.
• Provide guidance and leadership to Kids Zone Counselors.
• Follow YMCA policies, including safety and abuse prevention procedures.
• Engage with parents/guardians to share information about the child’s experience.
• Ensure toys and equipment are clean, safe, and properly stored.
