Job summary

n-Lorem Foundation is seeking a dependable, entry-level IT Technician to provide onsite technology support for staff across the foundation. This part-time role focuses on computer setup, day-to-day technical support, meeting room tech, and onboarding/offboarding tasks in a hands-on office environment.

The candidate will assist with equipment configuration, inventory, and basic training, reporting to the Sr. Director of Informatics.

Qualifications

• U.S. work authorization required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Entry-level technical knowledge of Windows computers, Microsoft Office, common business applications, and peripheral devices.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly, patiently, and professionally.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn new systems, follow established procedures, and ask questions when guidance is needed.
• Ability to lift, move, and set up standard office technology equipment as needed.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and WordPress is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with onsite computer configurations, deployments, and technical support for staff across the foundation.
• Provide responsive day-to-day support for computers, peripherals, software, printers, and basic network connectivity issues.
• Document support requests, troubleshooting steps, equipment assignments, and completed work clearly and accurately.
• Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate internal or external IT support resources.
• Represent the IT function with professionalism, patience, and a helpful approach when supporting staff and visitors.
• Set up, configure, and troubleshoot workstations, laptops, monitors, docking stations, phones, printers, and related office technology.
• Ensure equipment is properly inventoried, tagged, and documented.
• Manage the issuing, tracking, and return of flash drives and related removable media.
• Maintain clean and organized technology storage and inventory areas.
• Provide computer technical support and basic technology training during new hire orientation.
• Prepare computers, accounts, applications, and access permissions.
• Conduct new hire technology orientation and training.
• Assist with employee equipment return, coordinating access changes, and preparing devices for reassignment.
• Maintain onboarding and offboarding checklists and documentation.
• Partner with Human Resources and department managers to ensure timely provisioning and deprovisioning of technology resources.
• Provide cross-foundational support for conference rooms, meeting technology, and audiovisual equipment.
• Assist with meeting setup, testing, troubleshooting, and facilitation.
• Train staff on meeting room technology and collaboration tools.
• Ensure meeting rooms remain operational and technology-ready.
